THOR (registered)

**Thor passed away in March 2019, having just reached his 15th birthday. He was not a cuddly fellow, but we loved him and will miss him. I feel so lucky to have had him as part of our flock - a sheep who was one in a million.

Prior to his passing:

Thor is our flock sire.  He is very striking and grabs the eye with his four symmetrical horns. Navajo-Churro sheep are one of the few breeds that have genetics allowing them to have anywhere between 2 and 6 horns. He is a truly beautiful animal and is proud to pass on his good looks to his offspring. He also helps the flock by bringing up the rear, protecting the group and making sure everybody is accounted for while the flock leader charges ahead.  Like many intact males, Thor is aggressive around food and during the mating period, but is calm and even-tempered the rest of the time.  Still, it is important to remember to be aware of a ram at all times you are around him.

Best Features:

  •  Proven breeder
  •  Four-horned, symmetric and away from face
  •  Lustrous wool, long staple length
